If you can't come to pick up the eggs
If you already know in advance that you won't be able to pick up the eggs on one occasion, try asking a friend. If you forget to pick it up, and this doesn't happen often, I'll tell you to come get it, if it's not much time, I'll wait for you until you get there. You can pick it up at another handover. If you're going on vacation or you know in advance that you won't be able to pick it up, then also ask your friends or people in the community if someone or someone's friend would pick it up for you and then you can sort it out among yourselves.
If all the hens are leased
If the hens are leased, you will only be able to sign up for a waiting list. As soon as we increase the number of hens or there is a vacancy among the members, I will contact the next subscribers on the list.
Canceling your lease
If you want to cancel, I understand, but please let me know at least a week in advance. When you cancel, I will look for a new member to replace you, it is best if you bring someone in your place. The laying hens are part of the farm for at least one year. I'm looking for long-term cooperation, I don't want to look for new members every week.
If I book now, when can I receive the first eggs?
I plan the first handover for May. It is expected that in the first weeks the eggs will be mixed sizes.
Farm visits, events
At least once a year, we organize a farm tour, which our members can participate for free, and we are also preparing several family programs, which you can find current information about in the Events menu.
Information
Through weekly newsletters, We will show you what is happening with the hens, how many eggs you will get and what you can currently buy from the farm.
By sending the order, you indicate your intention to become a member, which becomes valid upon payment of the first fee.
If you suscribe for a year, write in the form the name(s) of your hen(s), so we can make their protraits for you.
FAQ
How many hens should I lease?
A hen lays 5-7 eggs per week, so if you want 10 eggs per week, you should lease at least two hens.
Are the eggs certified organic?
No. My standards are much higher than organic, and an important element of the CSA is that you can inspect the farm yourself , instead of an external inspection organization.
Are there any disadvantages to becomming a CSA member?
In addition to the benefits, the membership system also comes with responsibilities, which means that we share the risks. E.g. variable egg yield.
How many eggs will I get exactly?
Every week before handing over, we count how many eggs were laid and distribute them proportionally among the members. 5-7 eggs per week, depending on the season and natural conditions.
Can I pick up every other week?
Yes.
